A Spring Head Race on the Tideway in London

Auriol Kensington Rowing Club hosts this head race in the spring each year. Raced between Chiswick and Hammersmith Bridges on the outgoing tide. The event is open to Eights, Quads and Fours in selected Open, Women's and Junior categories

UPDATE 13th Jan - We are full and are operating a waiting list.

The event has now been suspended for new entries.

Thanks to all who have entered. We have had an unprecedented level of entries and wanted to keep you updated on our current status.

We have started to provisionally accept entries on BROE. If your crew has not been accepted yet you will be on our waiting list for one of the following;

• Your entry was received after we reached our maximum number of entries for fully completed and paid crews. Crews will be allocated from the waiting list as entered crews withdraw.

• The number of entries received for your event is low and we are reviewing whether to run the event this year given the overall demand.

We would ask club admins to withdraw any entries that are not required in order to accommodate waiting crews.

We would also draw you attention to the rules for an oversubscribed event (Rule 7)

1. 50% of the entry will be reserved for Senior crews

2. We reserve the right to cancel events that are under subscribed (less than 8 crews)

3. For Junior events each club may be restricted to a maximum of two entries

The draw is some way off and if other years are an indication we should be able to accommodate many crews on the waiting list. We will offer as many crews as possible the opportunity to compete.
